about

Inspired by a little conversation on Buddhanature in the Zen group on Facebook. Thanks to Vic Carpenter for inviting me to the conversation.

It was all done very quickly, from a post I replied to someone in the zen group concerning if hedgehogs have buddhanature
so it hasn't been edited at all.

lyrics

The Silent Temple

All living creatures everywhere, buddhanature reminders
Tiny reflections of a wonderful place we call our own.
But there is no identity, nothing lacking in you or me
Just the same we look for that which will make us whole.

And this is our suffering, a strong delusion and catastrophe
But here behind my song is a silent temple grown.

Baby hedgehog seems so frail, nothing dangerous in the air
But if you still think killing spiders makes it all okay
Then you are just as lost anyway

For all creatures great and small, reminders of the one and all
For compassion and love to be true, it must go forth to the spider too.
